Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

Family Buddy ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our AI-powered family coaching service.

2. Information We Collect

Personal Information: Name, email address, and family member information you choose to provide.

Usage Data: Chat conversations, activity preferences, and interaction patterns with our AI assistant.

Technical Data: IP address, browser type, device information, and cookies for service functionality.

Payment Information: Processed securely through Stripe; we do not store full card details.

3. How We Use Your Information

  • Provide personalized AI coaching and activity recommendations
  • Process subscriptions and manage your account
  • Improve our services through anonymized analytics
  • Send important service updates and communications
  • Ensure platform security and prevent abuse

4. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest. Your data is stored on secure servers provided by Supabase with Row Level Security ensuring you can only access your own data.

5. Cookies & Consent

We use necessary cookies to keep Family Buddy working (for example, to maintain sessions and protect the service). With your permission, we also use analytics cookies to understand how the product is used and to improve reliability.

You can choose “Necessary only” or “Accept all” from our cookie banner. If you accepted analytics cookies and want to withdraw consent, you can clear your browser cookies for this site (including the consent cookie named fb_cookie_consent) and we will ask again.

6. Data Retention

We keep your information for as long as needed to provide the service and meet legal, accounting, and security requirements. In practice, this typically means we retain your account data while your account remains active.

You can now self-serve export your data and delete your account directly from Settings → Privacy & Security. If you choose to delete your account, we will take reasonable steps to delete or anonymize personal data unless we must keep certain records for legitimate purposes (for example, fraud prevention or legal compliance).

7. Your Rights (GDPR)

  • Access: Request a copy of your personal data
  • Rectification: Correct inaccurate information
  • Erasure: Request deletion of your data
  • Portability: Export your data in a machine-readable format
  • Objection: Opt out of certain data processing

You can download your data and delete your account from Settings → Privacy & Security. You can also contact us at hello@familybuddy.io.

8. Children's Privacy

Family Buddy is designed for adults. You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children.

9. Third-Party Services

We use trusted third-party services:

  • Supabase: Database, authentication, and file storage
  • OpenAI: AI processing for chat functionality
  • Stripe: Secure payment processing
  • PostHog: Product analytics (only with consent)
  • Brevo (Sendinblue): Transactional emails (e.g. password resets and account notifications)
  • Sentry: Error tracking and monitoring to improve service reliability. Performance monitoring and session replay may be enabled only if you accept analytics cookies.

Each service operates under their own privacy policies and we have Data Processing Agreements in place.
